Man held for abducting minor in Kandivli

According to the police, the victim's father is a carpenter by profession. On Tuesday, around 1pm, Vishwakarma had abducted the victim from outside his residence on the pretext of getting him a chocolate. Victim's family had lodged a police complaint in this regard.

Kandivli Unit of crime branch have arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly kidnapping a four-year-old boy. The victim was rescued by the police within few hours and also managed to apprehend the abductor who was planning to flee to Uttar Pradesh (UP). The accused has been identified as Surendrakumar alias Rakesh Vishwakarma (32).

According to the police, the victim's father is a carpenter by profession. On Tuesday, around 1pm, Vishwakarma had abducted the victim from outside his residence on the pretext of getting him a chocolate. Victim's family had lodged a police complaint in this regard.

"We had received information that the victim has been confined in a room at Ghansoli in Navi Mumbai. We then rescued the victim on Tuesday night itself and arrested Vishwakarma when he was planning to flee UP," said assistant commissioner of police Sunil Deshmukh.
