Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad gets a website

The Maharashtra Sahitya Parishad’s website www.masapaonline.org was inaugurated by information technology (IT) expert and noted writer Achyut Godbole at Nivara old age home auditorium in Navi Peth, Pune on Tuesday. 

Chairman of Cosmos Bank Mukund Abhyankar presided over the function. Eminent writer and president of the parishad Da Ma Mirasdar, secretary Madhavi Vaidya and working president VB Deshpande were also present.

The website is designed by Dimakh Consultants and the Marathi web technology development and content management has been done by Prasad Shirgaonkar of www.marathiwebsites.com. 

It contains information on the history of the literary body, names of the members of working committee, new initiatives taken by it, awards, competitions, procedure for becoming a member and membership online forms. It also has information about new books. 

“We are planning to make the website more attractive and will have a video gallery and photo gallery soon” said Shirgaonkar. Godbole said the parishad has taken a big step in launching its own website. “The concept of e-books is very beautiful and writers should use the latest technology to reach out to the readers. They should also try new forms of writing,” he said. The noted writer said that along with the usual forms of literature such as novels, short stories and poems, other forms can also have literary values.
