Mahanagar Gas Limited launches mobile app ‘MGL Connect’

Mahanagar Gas Limited on Wednesday announced the launch of its mobile application ‘MGL Connect’  for its Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) customers.

Mahanagar Gas Limited on Wednesday announced the launch of its mobile application ‘MGL Connect’  for its Piped Natural Gas (PNG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) customers. 

The app is now available for download on Android play store without any charge. This mobile application will have various consumer friendly features and services.

Some of the services include verifying if the MGL staff that has come to your doorstep for metre reading is actually MGL’s employee or not. “Customers can verify the metre reader by entering his employee ID displayed on his identity card. On doing so, the photograph of the metre reader shall be displayed on the screen,” read a statement by MGL.

Another features include viewing current and last three PNG bill details and payments made and also make online payments.

“Customers can provide metre readings during billing cycle by uploading a photo of their metre reading, which will enable the company to process bills on ‘Actual’ metre reading during the ‘Assessed’ reading cycle,” mentioned the statement.

Even grievances can be lodged through the mobile app by selecting the category or nature of complaint from the drop down menu. 

Motorists using CNG as fuel will be able to track where the nearest CNG outlet is. Even information about CNG prices will be on display by comparing it with the price of other fuels.

“Information about CNG kit suppliers and hydro-testing centres, tips on CNG vehicle maintenance, car models available in CNG variant will also be available,” said Rajeev Mathur, Managing Director of MGL.
