Thane Guardian Minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday requested Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to hand over the construction of a new bridge at Kopri in Thane to Army engineers.
People from Thane, especially those residing in Ghodbunder Road areas, are plagued by traffic snarls. A few organisations and citizen groups have even threatened to boycott the next elections over this issue. So, to discuss this, Manohar Dumbare, BJP Corporator from Thane Municipal Corporation, had met the CM on August 30.
The authorities are mulling over constructing a new bridge at Kopari along the Eastern Express Highway; it is likely to take a long time. PWD Minister Shinde requested Fadnavis to let Army engineers construct it, so that it can be built in lesser time.
