Journey turns tragic as 7 of family die

A trip to Ahmednagar turned tragic for 10 members of a family from Aane village after the ST bus met with an accident at Malshej Ghat. While seven of the family members died on the spot, three escaped with injuries.

“They were residents of Thane and Chembur respectively and were going to see a fair,” said a grieving relative, Santosh Aher, from Aane village who has been waiting eagerly to receive them. The deceased have been identified as Poonam Babban Aaher, Balu Tulshiram Aaher, Babban Tulshiram Aaher, Saraswati Balu Aaher, Prashant Vasant Aaher and Vaishali Vasant Aaher. The injured are Aakash Balu Aaher, Lilabai Vasant Aaher and Radha Aaher.
