Jail harassing me, says 7/11 accused

Abdul Wahid Shaikh, an accused in the July 2006 serial train blast case has alleged harassment by jail authorities. The details of this were provided in a letter, that the accused addressed to Justice Y D Shinde, a judge at the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, court (MCOCA).

In the letter (copy of which is with dna), the accused claims jail authorities are harassing him by shifting him from one barrack to other. According to Shaikh, this constant shifting has made it difficult for him to concentrate on preparing the final arguments which he must submit to the MCOCA court.

In the letter, Shaik also accuses Swati Sathe, deputy inspector general (DIG) of the jail of acting in collaboration with the ATS to harass him.

When dna spoke to Sathe, she said she did not know about the letter. She said, “I have never seen any such letter. The transfer of the accused is not to harass him but for security reasons at the prison.”

What does the letter say?
The three-page letter  says, ‘I was lodged in ... Anda Cell, from past many years. However scene changed from August 2013, when the Pune’s German Bakery case convict Himayat Baig was transferred to Mumbai central prison(Arthur road) and was lodged in my yard. In the third week of September, the jail scenario changed, when Swati Sathe took over the charge as DIG Mumbai prison.
