Shiv Sena protesters on Saturday threw ink on Maharashtra Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat in Ahmednagar district. The incident occurred while he was getting into his car after inaugurating developmental projects in Rajapar in Sangamner taluka,

The police have arrested Shiv Sena worker Bhausaheb Hase, who is also affiliated to the Dhangar community.

Protesting the act, angry supporters of Thorat vandalised the office of Shiv Sena and also blocked the road in Rajapur

Reacting to the incident, Balasaheb Thorat said "This is just a political stunt ahead of the Assembly elections, party workers should not take law and order into their own hands."

During the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, Shiv Sena's Bhausaheb Wagh Chavre had joined the Congress party. Shiv Sena members had then attacked him, in which Hase was also involved. But the reason behind throwing ink on Thorat is not clear.

Earlier, protesters of the Dhangar community had thrown ink on Maharashtra cooperatives minister Harshvardhan Patil, in which Patil had suffered an eye injury.
