IMC ladies wing to celebrate International Women's Day

Each year, the IMC Ladies' Wing organises IMPACT, an initiative to recognise and celebrate the social, economic and political achievements of women. This year the conclave is scheduled to be held on International Women's Day, Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, NCPA, Nariman Point from 2:00 pm onwards.

According to Leena Vaidya, president of the ladies' wing, "The theme of IMPACT this year will be dedicated to celebrating womanhood with INK Women. Since its inception, INK has created a well-established community of luminaries. The INK community is truly unique in its global reach as well as the incredible stories and ideas of its members. To make the programme more eventful there will be a highly inspiring line-up of sessions included to honor the power called 'WOMANHOOD'."

The panel of speakers will be addressing key subjects and include, Lakshmi Pratury – The storyteller, Megha Ramaswamy & Nasreen - Stories of indomitable human spirit, Vanitha Narayanan – Bigboss @ IBM, Sunil Khandbahale - The Wordsmith, Alicia Souza – The darling doodler, Arunachalam Muruganantham – First man to wear a sanitary napkin, Shankar Tucker – The clarinetist, Nancy Silberkeit – The comic crusader, Uma Ramakrishnan – DNA De?coder, Vani Kola – The catalyst, Parmesh Shahani – Cultural catalyst, Robin Chaurasiya - Krantikari – The Revolutionary, Sabriye Tenberken - Blind Linguistic Designer, Usha Uthup – The Voice and Varun Agarwal - Media & Merchandise Entrepreneur. This session will be followed by a performance by the Shiamak Davar Dance Company.

The Ladies' Wing of the IMC was formed in 1966-67 and has 2,000 members.
