The Pant Nagar Police, that is investigating the case, submitted to the court that they have seized another car belonging to Sachin and the vehicle might have been used to commit the crime.
The Vikhroli Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, sent the four accused Sachin Pawar, Dinesh Pawar, Praneet Bhoir and Siddhesh Patil to jail custody in the murder case of Ghatkopar jeweller Rajeshwar Udani. The Pant Nagar Police, that is investigating the case, submitted to the court that they have seized another car belonging to Sachin and the vehicle might have been used to commit the crime.
According to the police reports, most of the stolen materials and pieces of the destroyed evidences in the case have been recovered but to connect the remaining dots of the entire incident for a better understanding of the modus and motive of the murder is consuming time. The public prosecutor while giving the submission to the court said that Sachin had managed to the fabricate the number plate of the i-10 car in which Udani was first smothered with a cake on his face and later allegedly strangulated, but the role of Sachin's new vehicle worth Rs 10 lakhs is yet unknown. While the police requested for more custody for the detailed investigation, defence lawyers of Sachin, Dinesh and Praneet argued about stale progress of the probe and also said that instead mentioning new facts and theories in the case, the police is instead rewriting the stale facts in the remand application just for the sake of getting the police custody of the accused.
"We had earlier recovered Udani's stolen materials from Dinesh's gym in Ghatkopar after which the other co-accused helped us to seize some more materials which also included five mobile phone out of which some were in burnt condition, burnt pieces of the clothes which some of the accused had worn during the murder. Some more leads in the case is being worked on and further more details shall be highlighted soon," said a police officer requesting anonymity.
