While hundreds of employees of Gitanjali Gems have been already left in the lurch after their shops owned by Mehul Choksi and Nirav Modi were shut on the backdrop of Rs 12,400 crore PNB scam, a stationary supplier of Nirav Modi's Firestar diamonds international private limited is running from pillar to post over the non-payment of goods that he delivered to the company.
The supplier has approached Bandra police to lodge an FIR against Nirav Modi.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, Pal Chheda, who runs a stationery business in Bandra, had supplied the stationery, papers, art, and crafts worth Rs 3.50 lakh to Modi's company under 32 separate orders from September 2017 to February 2018 at their Vidyavihar office on the order of Modi's purchase manager. However, the company did not pay the bill to the victim till date.
The victim said,"the actual amount of the unpaid bill is Rs 6.80 lakh, however, there were invoices of only Rs 3.50 lakh hence I have filed a complaint for Rs 3.50 lakh. In January this year, I had contacted the purchase manager of the company for my payment when he had told me that this time there would be a delay of a month for payment. However in February everyone suddenly got shut, The amount is huge and I don't know what would happen with my payment," Chheda said.
"I initially tried to contact the manager of the company also visited the offices for payment but when no one was not replying and even the office of the company was shut. With the help of my lawyer, I approached Bandra police and filed police complaint against Nirav Modi. The police have assured me that they will register an FIR which will be later forwarded to CBI," he added.
