The Mumbai crime branch, on Wednesday, recovered a gun that had been used by gangsters in August to fire from outside the residence of film producer Karim Morani in Mumbra. With this, the crime branch has now recovered all the six weapons that were procured by the 13 members of the Ravi Pujari gang who have now been arrested.

According to the crime branch, the latest recovery is a major success for them in the case. "The accused had procured six guns of which five we had seized earlier. We recovered the last one on Wednesday from Mumbra," said an officer privy to the investigation.

He added: "We have also recovered six rounds; making 26 the total rounds recovered. They had brought 30 rounds for the crime."

During the interrogation of the arrested, it was also revealed that Ishrat along with one of the local contacts of an arm dealer based in Madhya Pradesh (MP), had travelled in a four wheeler to Madhya Pradesh to procure the weapons.

"We have come to know that Ishrat travelled to Madhya Pradesh to get the guns that were used for firing, and are investigating further," said a crime branch officer.

Investigators claim they now have clinching evidence to link the wanted accused, Obaid Radiowala, to the arrested Pujari men. According to a source, during the investigations, 'WhatsApp' messages were found in Anees phone. They had been sent to Obaid Radiowala, whose name he had stored in his phone as 'Bhaijaan'.

"There are WhasApp messages between Anees Merchant and Radiowala where they have shared details on the firing outside Morani's residence. We believe it will be one of our crucial evidences in the case against Radiowala," said a crime branch officer.
