&TV’S GANGAA

When the path is tough, have faith. Don’t give up, give yourself the strength to carry on. Love yourself and hope for a better future. Because you can! Similar is the ideology of &TV’s Gangaa, an inspiring story that started with a child widow characterised with an indomitable spirit and will to survive. Breaking the mindset that believes stringently in certain traditions and rituals to be followed by widows, Gangaa represents the modern and progressive mindset that is evolved and practical believing in equal opportunity and empowerment.

From being a child widow to a single parent, Gangaa has faced the world on her own terms and held her head high. Its indeed an ode to the woman of today who can walk that extra mile to prove her worth in the society. With a similar proposition, DNA iCAN Run Women’s Half Marathon not only celebrates womanhood, but the strength of a woman as well.

Says actor Aditi Sharma who essays the character of Gangaa, “Do not chain a woman down, be the wind beneath her wings. Women only need an opportunity and you will be surprised with what she can achieve. I am a firm believer in equal rights for all. Women should be given the freedom to choose — their education, career, or even their life partners. My character Gangaa is an example of this belief. Being a child widow did not stop her from fighting for her right to education.

When there was no other way to go, she ensured she made one herself. I would like to tell all the women out there to just believe in themselves because sky is the limit.” The grit and determination of &TV’s Gangaa spells out a lesson for the woman of today!

Follow Gangaa’s journey every Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm only on &TV.
