Day 3 of search ops: ICG find 7th body, parts of helicopter

The ICG also stated that the body of the seventh missing crew member has also been recovered on Monday

Indian Coast Guard (ICG) personnel on Monday said that parts of the ill-fated Pawan Hans helicopter, such as rotor blades, main gear box, tail gear box, both engines, emergency locator transmitter (ELT) have been recovered. The ICG also stated that the body of the seventh missing crew member has also been recovered on Monday.

"The effort to locate missing passengers on-board the ill-fated ONGC Copter continued on the third day with ICG ships and aircrafts undertaking extensive search in the area in coordination with other ONGC and Naval vessels. Coast Guard Ship Samrat, which is also on-scene Commander, in its latest report from the area, confirmed recovery of another body on Monday belonging to the missing crew from the aircraft. The ship also intimated recovery aircraft parts by ONGC vessel Samudra Sevak," said an ICG official.

Coast Guard Dornier aircraft, flying from Daman, also continued to scan the area for any other debris or body parts. "Coast Guard is maintaining high level coordination with ONGC in the operation and CG Ships and aircraft based in Mumbai and Daman respectively are being continuously deployed to the crash location," added the official.
