The Metropolitan Magistrate court held three senior railway officials who were nearing their retirement, guilty of molesting a woman, a teacher by profession, who was on her way to her school when the fateful incident took place.

The court while convicting the three observed that the incidents of passing lewd comments while passing through the train and also molesting on the railway platforms, is on the rise and this conviction should set an example for people with such mentality. The court, however, considering the age factor, awarded the molester with rigorous imprisonment of two months, while the other two who passed comments were sentenced to 15 days of simple imprisonment.

"A stern message needs to be sent which would act as a deterrent for others while committing the offences alike committed by the accused."

The court in its order copy while describing the difficult situation which the victim had to go through held that, "A working woman who needs to travel from Kalyan to Matunga and who is doing so since long had to face the whammy on October 17, 2013, when the accused committed the acts which she attributed to them. Obviously, a lonely woman is not expected to take the legal course by approaching the police at first instance."
