Three days after an X-ray technician escaped after he was allegedly caught filming a woman patient in the changing room, the 28-year-old man is still on the run. Police sources said they are probing whether the technician has, in the past, also targeted other women patients.

The accused, Ansar Sheikh, who worked for Clinico Diagnostic Centre in Mulund, had allegedly placed his cell phone in the changing room when a 26-year-old patient had come there late on Wednesday evening to an X-ray done. The phone, which was concealed in a plastic bag pockmarked with holes, was on video-record mode at the time. However, the patient, while changing, suspected some mischief on seeing the plastic bag perched on the wall of the changing room.

Sheikh, who initially said it was not his phone, flashed a blade and injured a woman colleague, before fleeing the centre.

Assistant commissioner of police (Mulund division), Vasant Tajne, said three police teams have been formed to nab the accused. Tajne said that a case of molestation, obscenity, and threatening to kill, and using word or gesture or act to insult the modesty of a woman have been registered against Sheikh under sections of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act at Mulund police station.

Tajne added that of the three teams, two have been sent to Nashik and Igatpuri as Sheikh is a resident of Igatpuri in Nashik district.

On Friday, dna found the Clinico Diagnostic Centre shut.
