Constable dies while saving injured on tracks

On Monday, an on-duty police constable SV Patil, posted with Andheri Government Railway police, rushed on the tracks with four railway porters to save an injured commuter when the Virar Fast local mowed him down at around 11.30 pm.

He was rushed to Cooper hospital for treatment but succumbed to severe injuries during the treatment. The constable was trying to locate the injured victim after the station master made an announcement about the incident.
