Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis defends government's performance

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a chat with dna defended his government's performance in its first two months, citing the examples of big projects such as the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj memorial in the Arabian Sea, Indu Mill memorial in the memory of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and the Nagpur airport project, which have been put on the fast track by his government.

Fadnavis said that the previous government had only made announcements about the Shivaji memorial and that it was his government that had got environment clearance for the project from the union environment ministry. Fadnavis said that prime minister Narendra Modi would perform the foundation laying ceremony on February 19, 2015.

Fadnavis, citing the example of the Indu Mill memorial to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, said that his government also provided momentum to this project. He pointed out that the all-important project of MIHAN (Multi-modal Cargo Hub and International Airport) at Nagpur has been put on fast track. He said that the union government has recently decided to provide Indian air force land for this project. He said that in just two months, his government has speeded up these three projects along with number of other initiatives.
