Around 16 lakh Senior School Certificate (SSC) board students from Maharashtra, including 1,71,163 students from the Mumbai division, will be able to see their results online on Friday after 1pm, the state board announced on Wednesday.

Around 16 lakh Senior School Certificate (SSC) board students from Maharashtra, including 1,71,163 students from the Mumbai division, will be able to see their results online on Friday after 1pm, the state board announced on Wednesday.

Like last year, the results have been prepared based on the best-of-five policy. This means students will get the best five scores and the percentage along with the score in the sixth subject.

Ujwala Patil, chairperson of the state board, said they wanted to declare the SSC results on Wednesday, but could not due to “certain technicalities”. “There was only a two-day delay in declaring the results, but we wanted to ensure perfect results,” said Patil.

Though students can see their results online on Friday, they will get their mark sheets from their schools only after 10 days — on June 27.

For more than a month, speculations and confusion surrounded the announcement of SSC results after Rajendra Darda, state school education minister, announced that they would be out before June 15.

“After reading reports that the SSC results will be out on June 15, I cut short my vacation to Igatpuri. But when I went to school on Wednesday morning and checked the board website, there was no mention of results,” said Siddhartha Kulkurni, a student.

Some students also claimed they received text messages asking them to check results on the state board website on Wednesday.

This year, SSC students can submit their preference and option forms to the colleges of their choice from Saturday when the online admission process begins.

Students can check their results online on www.mahresult.nic.in, www.studyssconline.com, www.msbshse.ac.in, www.mh-ssc.ac.in, www.sscresult.mkcl.org or via BSNL mobile phone services by sending an SMS on 57766 by typing MHSSC><(space)><seat number. The last date for applying for re-evaluation is July 7.
