CBI releases sketches of suspects in Dr Narendra Dabholkar murder case

The CBI had registered a case on June 2, 2014 as per the direction of the Bombay High Court. Dr Dabholkar was allegedly murdered in Pune on August 19, 2013 by two unidentified boys. After initial investigation by the Maharashtra police, the CBI took over the investigation of the case.

    The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has released sketches of two assailants allegedly involved in Dr Narendra Dabholkar murder case. The investigating agency has sent the sketches to all police stations in Maharashtra, seeking information on the suspects in the case.

    The CBI had registered a case on June 2, 2014 as per the direction of the Bombay High Court. Dr Dabholkar was allegedly murdered in Pune on August 19, 2013 by two unidentified boys. After initial investigation by the Maharashtra police, the CBI took over the investigation of the case.

    "The first sketch was released in March 2015 based on the input from the witnesses in and around the scene of the crime. The identity of the informant will be kept secret, if they want," said a CBI officer.

    Activists have been demanding arrest of the culprits who have been roaming free even though close to two years have passed since the murder of the rationalist.
