On the first day of February, as the gentle winter sunshine casts its honeyed rays over the city, Cuffe Parade will wake up to Dhruv Manek's Brunch Carnival, his endeavour to "make people aware and experience the amazingly diverse food culture that our city has to offer, fuelled by (his) own gluttony, of course."

A cornucopia of food stalls will unfurl over the expansive grounds of the World Trade Centre, serving abundant cuisines. Manek tells us that "there's khau suey, Burmese buns, traditional Napolitano pizza pies and pasta, gourmet burger and sandwich shop, falafels, salads, wraps, succulent kebabs and rolls, confectionery, assorted cheese platter, waffles on a stick, pancakes, alcohol-laced popsicles and much more. There's something for every palate, age and craving."

And so restaurants from across Mumbai will come trundling in with their wares—from Fort comes Burma Burma; Nariman Point's Di Napoli with its exquisite pizzas and pasta; Kitab Khana's quaint Café Food For Thought, steaming momos from Worli's Dev's Momo Hut and hearty North Indian food from Sigdi among various others. Afterwards, you can sweeten your mouth with waffles from The Waffle House and Frugurpop's fruity Latin American-inspired ice pops. Finish your meal with a sliver of 'artisanal' cheese from The Spotted Cow Fromagerie. Bombrie or Camembay, anyone?

As day melts into dusk, you can try your hand (read: feet) at Reveilo Wines' grape crushing, absorb some molecular mixology-inspired drinks, gulp down tequila slammers or daintily sip wine and nibble at cheese at a wine and cheese tasting. According to Manek, revellers will also enjoy "a photo-booth, a 'dream' lounge and an art loft." And you can do it all to the strains of a live band, DJ and percussionist.

The Brunch Carnival will be held on February 1 at the World Trade Centre grounds, Cuffe Parade, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Entry fee is Rs. 200.
Indian fusion band Advaita (4.30 p.m.) and vocalist Kim Cardoz are set to perform at this carnival.
