One year into its inception, one of SoBo's finest restaurants has rolled the red carpet to welcome new additions in their menu. The proverbial Pied Piper of the SoBo restaurant scene, The Sassy Spoon has managed to channel Chef Irfan Pabaney's and Rachel Goenka's creativity to ensure that the finest and the freshest produce reach your table. And with their latest additions, the duo hopes to strike a chord with their patrons.

The USP of The Sassy Spoon is innovative dishes. We have retained the favourites but added a lot more fun elements; the new menu is a lot more fun and edgy,?quips Goenka, he skillets really 'hits the spot' and the flatbreads are crisp and fresh. For me, food has to be fun and not complicated, and at The Sassy Spoon, that is what we strive to achieve.?

We don't do pizzas as it is done to death in a city like Mumbai. Instead, we have introduced flatbread and are playing around with them.?The restaurant has introduced the Sour Cherry Alfredo with Grilled Chicken and Caramelised Onion; Creamed Spinach Mushrooms and Arugula Crumbled Feta and Eggplant Caponata, Oven-dried Tomatoes, Basil and Balsamic Reduction, among others to their flatbread section.

As part of their 'Between Pois' section they have the Choriz Pao with homemade poi, goan sausages, bell peppers and onions with roasted baby potatoes, chive and sour cream; Crumbed Cottage Cheese with Siracha Mayo; and Crispy Chicken With Mustard and Curry Leaf Dressing, to name a few.

Loaded with precision, the 'From The Skillet' range includes Seared Mushrooms with Water Chestnuts, Scallion topped with Mac and Cheese with Orange Zest; Soya Bobotie with Spicy Rice; Goan Sausage with Potatoes and Basil; and Minced Beef with Spaghetti and Smoked Scarmoza.

With a promise to tickle your taste buds, Goenka has saved the best for last. Drawn towards the dessert cart, she has introduced the Lemon and Thyme Cheese Cake and the Seven-Textured Hazelnut and Chocolate Cake, which promises a play of different textures in your mouth. "Isn't that evident given the fact that it has seven layers of chocolate," gushes Goenka.
