The Powai Police has booked four building residents for allegedly clamping two-wheelers parked inside the society over allegedly not paying parking charges. The building residents allegedly vandalised and stole CCTV cameras installed by the complainant.

According to Powai Police, Sanjeev Jha (38) a resident of Green Tower in Andheri and a realtor by profession, owns a flat in Saphire Lakeside building opposite Powai Lake. The flat is occupied by his servant — Abdul Rahim (27) and Niraj Singh (23). On February 28, when Rahim parked his two-wheeler, four society residents and the accused confronted Rahim claiming that the parking charges have not been paid by the flat owner and that the two-wheeler will be clamped down.

"As per the complainant, after clamping the two-wheeler when Jha tried to confront the society members, it led to a brawl after which the CCTV cameras installed by him were damaged and two cameras were stolen. The four accused have been captured in the CCTV camera footage," said an officer.

Anil Pophale, senior inspector, Powai Police Station, said, "We have registered a case under section 379 (theft) and 341 (wrongful confinement) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused have not been arrested."
