Ridiculing NCP Lok Sabha MP from Baramati, Supriya Sule, for her criticism of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, BJP has said that Sule's attacking posture was a manifestation of proxy war for leadership within NCP. BJP has said that, since the NCP leaders in the state are in the queue for going into jails, Sule is taking the reigns of her party into her hands.

Speaking to dna, BJP state unit chief spokesperson Madhav Bhandari said that, it is clear that NCP is witnessing a proxy war for leadership within the party. He said that under the garb of waging an attack on the CM, Sule is trying to settle scores with her rivals within the party.

In the last week, Sule has criticized the CM for not taking any action on the Maratha reservation issue, despite massive silent marches being organised in various cities. Sule also criticized Fadnavis for being short tempered and compared him with women who fight each other.

Retalitaing Sule's criticism, Bhandari said that, Sule was so far restricting herself to national politics; being an MP she was not commenting on issues pertaining to state politics. Bhandari pointed out that, after NCP lost power both at the centre and in the state, there is an atmosphere of despair, and leaders in the state NCP are shaken, especially after probes into the alleged irrigation scam. He said that, since Fadnavis' government is pursuing this inquiry, NCP leaders are worried about their future and that is the reason Sule is trying to take over the reigns of the party under the garb of criticizing the CM.
