A 16-year-old boy died during the protest at Nanded. Friends of the teenager did not allow post-mortem to be conducted on the body and demanded that a murder case be registered against the police in this regard.

The deceased has been identified as Yogesh Prahlad Jadhav.

According to Satish Mathur, Director General of Police, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at Aashti village in Nanded. “The police were trying to disperse the protesters when one of the protestors, who was staging a rasta roko, fell while fleeing. His associates ran over him leading to him suffering severe injuries. The boy later succumbed to his injuries,” Mathur told DNA.

“The locals and friends of the boy did not allow a post mortem to be done on the body and have demanded that police should register a case of murder against the policemen present at the spot at the time of the incident,” the DGP said.
