BEST’s shuttle service to stations every 15 minutes

Just a day before the inauguration of the monorail, things are getting clear about providing connectivity to monorail stations. The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) on Friday announced that it is ready with its plan for monorail, but it hasn’t received any monorail timetable.

“During the first few days people will visit monorail stations for joyrides. I can assure that there will be special buses for people at Wadala railway station. Initially, we will operate shuttle services every 15 minutes,” said Om Prakash Gupta, general manager, BEST.

An official added that till date they have not received any specific details about the timetable of monorail operations, therefore it is not possible for us to prepare concrete schedule for operations. “Initially, the bus services will be without any timetable, once we get monorail timetable, it will take just one day to plan and start routine bus services,” informed Gupta.

The BEST has always been preparing need-based plans to cater to the travel demands of bus commuters which can be implemented at short notices. This plan will be put in operation to provide services to commuters who need to travel by BEST bus.
