Like every year this year too the Banjara community and residents of Colaba have decided to come together on October 20 from 3 pm till 8 pm, and celebrate Diwali. The programme will also be attended by people from the community who have been successful in their respective walks of life.
Women from the community will be participating in a dance competition. The community also aims to spread the message of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' in their community.
Balaji Rathod, social activist and resident of Colaba from Banjara community, said, "There is a lot of happiness when our community people come together and celebrate Diwali. This celebration is done a day after laxmi pujan."
