The anti-Maoist squad of Gadchiroli police has recovered arms and explosives from a Maoist hideout inside Kospundi forest in the district.
The squad was conducting a routine patrol in Kospundi forest area on Wednesday, when around 30 Maoists suddenly opened fire, police said.
The cadres disappeared into the forest when police retaliated in self-defence.
Police then conducted a search in the area and recovered two bicycles, a Chinese pistol with 6 live cartridges, a magazine, 100 grams of gun powder and other material from the spot.
Further investigations are on, the police said.
