In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old youth was killed by his friend for allegedly speaking to him in the English language.

The incident took place on Wednesday night in Bandra region of Mumbai and came to light when the accused himself went to a police station to surrender himself.

The accused has been identified as 21-year-old Mohammed Amir Abdul Wahid Rahin slitted a throat and stabbed him friend Mohammed Afroz Alam Shaikh for 54 times, reported Hindustan Times.

A report said that the accused walked into the station around 1 am and confessed about the crime. He said that he killed Afroz as he was angry over teasing and had been planning the murder for a week.

The accused took Shaikh to Bandra on the pretext of treating him to a drink and killed him.

“When Shaikh fell, Rahin stabbed him 54 times to ensure he was dead,” said DB Thorat, senior police inspector at Shahu Nagar police station.

Shaikh who was stabbed in his throat and stomach was rushed to the Sion hospital, but he was declared brought dead.
