Sixteen cartridges of .32 calibre were found near the Taj Mahal Hotel in Colaba on Wednesday. The Colaba police have made a diary entry in connection with the incident as unclaimed material.

According to the police, the cartridges were found in a parking lot by a few drivers. The drivers then informed a constable, who found the bullets in the gap where a paver block had come off. Police said a few bullets were scattered outside while the others were lying in the gap.

Senior inspector Rameshwar Supale, of Colaba police station said, "All the cartridges are of .32 calibre. They were rusted and unused cartridges. However, we will send them to the forensic department for ballistic analysis to find out how old the cartridges are and whether they have ever been used. These bullets appear to be old and we have made a diary entry."

It should be noted that on November 26, 2008, Hotel Taj was attacked by 10 terrorists including Ajmal Kasab. However, the weapons used by them were made in Pakistan ordinance factory.
