National College’s BMM department students will be organising the 10th edition of their college fest ‘Cutting Chai’ from February 8 to 10. The three-day festival is attended by students from various BMM colleges in the city, with a footfall of over 1,200 every year.
This year the theme of the fest is ‘World Of Magic.’ According to the students, it’s the battle of witches and wizards in an era of magic, where comrades battle it out to prove their worth, and possess the mighty scepter. Cutting Chai has previously experimented with themes ranging from superheroes, television Shows, to video Games and Greek Gods.
On January 26, the students celebrated Republic Day at the annual parade at Shivaji Park, Dadar by serving tea to citizens. They interviewed members of the BMC, policemen, army, navy and the air force and asked their opinions on various events in the country. Besides this on February 1, the team conducted a flash mob at Infinity Mall, Malad, with an aim to invite citizens to their festival.
According to the team, they aim at doing something different, with their unique flagship events. Investigative journalism, teleprompter, and human foosball are a few events that have been the college’s flagship events for years, and are anticipated greatly. The team has always been together to ideate things that constitute their festival as a whole, and bring it all together for the three big days.
Previously luminaries like AR Rahman, Varun Dhawan, Kareena Kapoor, Imran Khan, Arjun Kanungo among others have graced the stage. This year’s theme assures to deliver a magical experience for every student, the organisers told DNA.
