Retail major Walmart, which operates cash and carry stores under the Best Price brand in India, on Monday said all its 20 stores in the country have been integrated online via omni channel.

In the omni channel system, Walmart''s members of ''cash and carry'' stores will be connected through bestprice.in where they can shop online, the company said in a statement.

The virtual online stores would provide similar assortment of products as its brick and mortar format wholesale stores offer, including a select variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, it added.

Commenting on the development, Walmart India President and CEO Krish Iyer said: "With the rapid technology adoption led by the increasing use of devices such as smartphones and tablets, and access to the internet through broadband, 3G, etc, we feel very enthused about our B2B e-commerce platform".

He further said that the company was receiving encouraging response from its members.

"Offering an omni-channel shopping experience to our members is thus poised to be a major growth driver for Walmart in India," Iyer said.

Walmart India had launched its B2B e-commerce platform in July 2014 for members of Lucknow and Hyderabad Best Price stores and gradually extended it to all the 20 stores.

In October 2014, the company had called off 6-year partnership with Bharti Enterprises and decided to operate its stores independently in India.
