According to a report titled 'The Goonj India Index 2015: 7 deadly Indian sins', which analysed over 600 brand pages on Facebook, Twitter mentions for India, YouTube mentions, searches on Google, mentions in Indian publications, torrents, and a Goonj Mood engine to process negative content, Sachin Bansal was the most sought after entrepreneur in 2015.
However, Binny Bansal, Sachin's business partner at Flipkart came in at number seven.
Indian start-ups' bad boy Rahul Yadav grabbed an unsurprising fourth spot on the list, after he was in and out of news for being sacked from Housing.com as the CEO. Since then, Yadav kept his "fans" informed and entertained through posts on his Facebook page. Yadav has now announced venturing into the data analytics space with a portal for the government to make its processes easier and cut cost.
So far, Yadav's new company, Intelligent Interfaces has been backed by Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, Flipkart's Sachin and Binny Bansal, Micromax's Rahul Sharma, and Paytm's Vijay Shekhar Sharma.
ICICI Bank's chief Chanda Kochhar was the second most searched entrepreneur in the year, followed by HCL Technologies founder Shiv Nadar, who is well-known for his philantropic ways. He gave away Rs 1,136 crore in 2014.
On number five is Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka, followed by Lakshmi Mittal as number eight.
The last three spots in the top ten were completed by Kumar Mangalam Birla, Infosys' Narayana Murthy and Essel Group's Subhash Chandra.
