Sports Ministry to convene meeting with state-run companies, banks

The Sports Ministry will convene a meeting of major Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Public Sector Banks (PSBs) in the national capital to discuss ways and chalk out strategies to promote sports in the country.

Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel will chair the meeting.

This is for the first time that such a meeting has been convened by the government to make concerted efforts to bring all stakeholders on one platform for the promotion of sports, an official release stated.

The meeting is expected to take stock of the current contribution of the PSUs and PSBs for promotion of sports and their future plans in this direction.
