Korean electronics giant Samsung will add to its range of 4G-enabled phones in India, a senior company official said.

Asim Warsi, vice-president, marketing, mobile & IT, Samsung India, said, "Analysts see a shift towards data-centric applications. This will see the number of data users grow over 40% in the next few years, and 4G is going to be at the helm of it, growing exponentially year on year. As market leader, Samsung will drive this wave of smartphone evolution. We will introduce and continue to expand our 4G portfolio. In India, we will offer range of new 4G models that consumers will be able to enjoy speeds of up to 150 Mbps."

Apart from Galaxy A7 launched on Monday, the company will unveil three more products – Galaxy Grand Prime 4G, Galaxy Core Prime 4G and Samsung J1 4G – in March this year.

"We will launch all three devices in quick succession, may be week apart. The devices will come out very soon in the next 2-3 weeks," Warsi said at the Samsung Forum 2015.

While Galaxy A7 is priced at Rs 30, 499, Galaxy J1 4G is priced at Rs 9,900. Warsi, however, did not disclose the prices of the other two models.

Majority of these devices are likely to come from the company's plant in Noida.

On stiff competition from local players and Chinese handset manufacturers, Warsi said, "Competition has always been there. We've been one of the major players in the market all these while. At Samsung we are really excited at the growth potential that is there in 2015 and beyond. Given the large market size, India continues to offer buoyant growth prospect. We expect the market to grow 14-15% in volume terms, and our attempt is to be well in excess of the market growth."

The company also launched the world's first convertible refrigerator with digital inverter compressor which will help consumers to convert the freezer into a fridge and back into a freezer. It also launched "S" brand TV, the new extensive range of SUHD TV, neo series of digital inverter split air conditioners, ActivWash+ machines, among others.
