Rupee marginally down against dollar in early trade

Dealers attributed the rupee's fall to dollar gains against other currencies overseas. Some demand for the dollar from importers also weighed on the rupee sentiment, they said.

The rupee was marginally down by 2 paise at Rs 63.75 against the dollar in early trade today due to appreciation of the US currency overseas.

Dealers attributed the rupee's fall to dollar gains against other currencies overseas. Some demand for the dollar from importers also weighed on the rupee sentiment, they said.

On Thursday, the rupee had ended marginally lower by two paise at 63.77 against the American currency on mild dollar demand from banks and importers on the back of higher greenback overseas.

The benchmark BSE Sensex rose 28.98 points, or 0.10%, to 28,327.11 in early trade today.
