Anil Ambani-owned Reliance Communications on Tuesday launched a next-generation cloud services delivery network in five cities of the country.

RCom has deployed Cloud Xchange (Cloud X) nodes in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad and plans to launch 120 such nodes across the globe by end of 2015.

Cloud X offers on-demand low-cost cloud services. Users can deploy cloud servers and applications and manage lifecycle of these resources online, the company said.

"Cloud X is changing the paradigm of cloud computing. The network must now undergo a profound transformation, from a static entity to a dynamic, intelligent, applicationaware fabric that can support multiple traffic requirements, diverse geographies and flexible pricing models," RCom (Enterprise) and Global Cloud Xchange CEO Bill Barney told reporters here.

The company said Cloud X is designed to deliver not only infrastructure provisioning but deployment of complex multi-tiered enterprise applications directly on to enterprise networks in minutes.

Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani had said during the Digital India launch on Jul 1 that the company would achieve full deployment of its next-generation content and cloud delivery network by the end of this year.
