MEA official spokesperson Vikas Swarup said Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven conveyed that his country was very keen to keep up the momentum which had been generated following President Pranab Mukherjee's visit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Sweden to be a part of the 'Make in India' programme, 'Skills India' programme and the 'Smart Cities' project.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Vikas Swarup said Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Lofven conveyed that his country was very keen to keep up the momentum which had been generated following President Pranab Mukherjee's visit, and that he was keen for the cooperation with India to continue at a faster pace.
"The Prime Minister invited Sweden to become a part of the 'Make in India' programme, 'Skills India' programme and the 'Smart Cities' project. He outlined the opportunities that awaited Swedish investments in areas such as railways and renewable energy," he told the media here.
"There was a reference to the President's visit. The Prime Minister thanked the Government of Sweden for the excellent arrangements made for the President's visit, which turned out to be a very fruitful and substantive visit during which a number of agreements were also signed," he added.
Giving details of the meeting between the two Prime Ministers, Swarup said then there was substantive discussion on the whole phenomena of ISIS.
"You know how it is impacting countries like Sweden and other European countries," he added.
The MEA spokesperson further said that Prime Minister Modi complimented his counterpart Lofen on his victory in the election last year.
Swarup further said that there was a discussion on the UNSC reform where once again there was a meeting of minds.
Both Prime Ministers agreed that the UN needs to be reformed, the 70th anniversary presented a useful opportunity to affect the much needed reform. He once again reiterated the Swedish support for India as a permanent member of reformed and expanded Security Council,? he added.
Prime Minister Modi also invited his Swedish counterpart to undertake a bilateral visit to India.
