Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, replying to a supplementary when Khadse was not in the House, said it was he and Khadse who had raised the Waqf Board land issue in the House before.

Fadnavis revealed that the previous government, after appointing a committee on Waqf Board land issue and receiving a report from the committee two years back, had not placed it in the House. The CM assured the House that the report would be presented in the House and action taken as per the recommendations.

Replying to a question by Azmi and Amin Patel on creating another branch of the tribunal for hearing the cases pertaining to Waqf Board (as there is only one tribunal at Aurangabad), Fadnavis said the government was considering setting up a bench of the tribunal at Nagpur and would consider setting benches in other places too. He made it clear that the government was of the view that Waqf Board land should be given back to the board.
