Maserati unveils diesel-powered Levante SUV

Italian luxury car manufacturer Maserati has unveiled a new diesel-powered SUV called the Levante.

The SUV will make public debut at the Geneva auto show next month, the Mashable.com reported.

The brand's first sport-utility is claimed to be based on the same platform that underpins the Ghibli and Quattroporte sports sedans.

The SUV is expected to offer both gasoline and diesel engines. The vehicle would first go on sale this spring in Europe and later global rollout by end of this year.
