Maruti Suzuki has resumed production of its cars at the Manesar facility and Guragon plants.

"Due to the strenuous efforts made by all concerned, operations at MSIL's facilities in Gurgaon and Manesar have begun smoothly," the company said in a statement.

The country's largest carmaker had shut its operations for maintenance after a fire broke out at Subros on May 29 which stopped the supply of car ACs to Maruti.

This prompted Maruti to shut production at the Manesar and the Gurgaon plants and the week-long maintenance plan was advanced.

Maruti's Manesar plant has a capacity of churning out 8 lakh units a year while the Gurgaon plant has a production capacity of 7 lakh units.

On Monday morning, the carmaker's shares were trading at Rs 4,081.50, down Rs 36.10 or 0.88% lower from previous day's close.
