Maruti Suzuki launches India-made Baleno hatch in Japan

The company will eventually export the Baleno hatch to over 100 countries.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has just launched the India-made Baleno hatchback in Japan. 

The new Baleno hatch was first revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2015 and was later launched in India, the first country to get the new car, on October 26th

The Baleno hatch is only manufactured at the carmaker's Manesar plant in Haryana. 

The company, in a press release, said that it has already sole 38,000 units of the Baleno in the domestic market. 

The new hatch will be exported to over 100 countries eventually. 

Speaking on the ocassion, Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Launch of ‘Made in India’ Baleno in Japan is a proud moment for all of us. This reaffirms Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing potential and growing importance of Maruti Suzuki India Limited in Suzuki Motor Corporation’s global business strategies. I am confident our Baleno would be well accepted by Japanese customers as well.”
