Jet Airways joins fare war, offers tickets at 50% less

Jet Airways on Thursday announced discount on fares up to 50% of the base price fares and fuel surcharges.

The fares starts from Rs 1499 across all destinations on the airline's domestic network.

The four-day special fare offer will be available for sale from August 1-4 with travel effective from September 1, 2014 onwards for flights.

Commenting on the offer, Gaurang Shetty, senior vice-president- commercial, Jet Airways, said, "Our guests have been at the very core of Jet Airways's success over the years and this special fare offer, is our endeavour to offer exceptional value to them. With this offer, our guests will be able to enjoy convenient connections and greater flexibility of flights across Jet Airways' and JetKonnect networks offering unmatched value."

Jet Airways has joined the fare wars which has generally been initiated by low-cost carriers like SpiceJet and IndiGo offering air tickets are dirt cheap rates for travelling on distant dates. The fare war have been triggered since last over eight months, following the plans of airlines like AirAsia and Tata-Asia to enter the market.
