Moreover, April 13 is the day when Sachin Bansal, co-founder, Flipkart, in an interview had defended net neutrality to a website which led to a massive outrage on social media and the like against Flipkart and its decision to join Airtel's Zero platform.

The very next day, i.e. April 14, Flipkart backed out of its negotiations with Airtel and said that the e-commerce giant is all for free and fair internet for one and all.

Suryaprakash argued that even though internet's founding fathers wanted equal access to the internet and world wide web for one and all, the 'founding' of the internet happened a long time ago.

He wrote, "As much as I agree that the Internet was founded upon principles that involve free expression and access by all, I think we've moved on to a point where fast lanes could provide digitally-minded companies and consumers the speed they require to compete in an entirely new marketplace."

Infosys, that announced its fourth quarter and full year results today is currently  being led by Vishal Sikka who is restructuring the company to make it more agile and ready for new businesses.

His "renew and new" strategy focuses on, among other things, is a push towards everything "digital".

In this context, the view of Global Head -- Digital of Infosys towards internet neutrality gain significant importance.

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has floated a consultation paper on net neutrality and invited comments from all sections of the society.

This led to creation of the 'Save The Internet' campaign which has resulted in over a million emails to the regulator. The deadline for sending responses is April 24, 2015.
