Traders attributed the recovery in wheat prices to increased offtake by flour mills.

They said uptick in demand from retailers and stockists in view of ongoing marriage season helped rice basmati prices rise.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) inched up by Rs 10 to Rs 1,730-1,735 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded higher Rs 5 to Rs 1,735-1,740 per 90 kg.

Atta flour mills and maida and also finished higher at Rs 960-970 and Rs 1,000-1,020, from previous levels of Rs 940- 950 and Rs 980-990 per 50 kg, respectively.

In the rice section, rice basmati common too settled higher by Rs 100 at Rs 8,300-8,400 per quintal.

On the other hand, bold grains like bajra fell by Rs 40 to Rs 1,390-1,400 per quintal. Barley also shed Rs 10 at Rs 1,570-1,590 per quintal. (MORE)
