'Digital India' first step forward to empower citizens with technology: Azim Premji

 Wipro chairman Azim Premji on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for Digital India is a very powerful one and added that it is the first step towards empowering citizens with technology.

"The vision of PM for digital India is a very powerful one. It is a first step forward to empower citizens with technology,"said Premji.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Digital India Week' at Indira Gandhi indoor stadium in the national capital today with a view to empower the people of the country through the Digital India programme.

Digital India aims to transform the country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy.

The vision of Digital India programme also aims at inclusive growth in areas of electronic services, products, manufacturing and job opportunities etc.
