About 17,616 people visited hospital from 2002 to 201, with genital injuries, which were caused by zippers on their trousers, jeans and pants, according to a new study.
According to MinnPost.com, the overwhelming majority of those were injuries that were related to penis, though five reported injuries were to labia or vaginas.
The researchers estimated that boys and teens younger than 18 were more prone to have these kinds of injuries.
Of all the ways the genitals of a man can be injured, zippers were found to be the leading cause.
The study has been published in urology journal BJU International.
