Pippa Middleton to be ‘senior lady-in-waiting’ during Kate’s royal tour

After being the bridesmaid at the royal wedding, Pippa Middleton has another challenging role to play when she tours with sister Kate in Canada and the US.

The Duchess of Cambridge wants Pippa to be her senior lady-in-waiting when she and Prince William visit California in June.

“It is a daunting tour for Kate and she wants someone she trusts at her side riding shotgun,” the Daily Star quoted a family friend as saying.

“Someone who can really look out for her and also tell her to come off her high horse if she gets a bit grand from red carpet fever,” the friend added.

Having been given a major responsibility, Pippa is already discussing the 12-day VIP tour of the decade with palace aides, family and party planner employers Table Talk.

Pippa would have to coordinate with Kate’s dresser and stylist, ensure that the right outfits are in the right city on the right day.

“Ladies-in-waiting collect all the flowers and gifts from walk-abouts and have to be up to date with facts on all the people their royal boss is likely to meet,” a former Palace worker said.
