Painting the tarot

“Intuition is a power that we are all blessed with. But then it’s only up to us to believe in this power and use it to our advantage,” says spiritual healer Priya Vora. Priya knows exactly how to use the powers of intuition and she utilises it in helping people with a unique kind of tarot reading.

Priya doesn’t use tarot cards which are available in the market. Instead, she paints them according to the intuitions she might get for somebody. “I find the regular tarot cards very limiting in nature.

There is so much more to people than what the tarot cards have to say. I used to get visual images about people which could not be found in any of the typical cards available today so the best I could do was paint them,” she says.

Most people are usually sceptical whether the power of someone’s intuition can really foretell their future and may not necessarily trust what Priya will tell about them. But though she may not be 100 per cent right always, when Priya touches your hand to feel the vibes, you may be surprised how she knows so many facts about your past and future. “The predictions can be positive or negative, depending on the person. But usually I try to avoid telling negative predictions. I felt sad about a recent incident. I had warned one of my clients not to step out of the house alone at night. Unfortunately she got robbed recently,” she says.

Some of her painted cards may look like the sun or the moon or any other earthly object but they may not have an exact symbolic relevance with that particular object. “The cards I create are painted on the basis of thoughts that run through my mind. None of the cards are symbolic in nature,” says Priya.

After an interval of three months or so, Priya likes to completely change her set of existing cards by painting new ones. “Usually I may have created a card for a particularsituation and at a particular time. So after a time it may stop serving its purpose. With time, people change and situations change. So I think the cards should change too. Just like you have a new thought every day, chards should keep evolving too,” says Priya.
