ShareMumbai: When it comes to her favourite genre of novels and books, jewellery designer Varuna D Jani loves an inspirational read. But when it comes to her favourite among the lot -- Positioning: The Battle For Your Mind-- is one of her favourite books because of its author Jack Trout and Al Ries.
"Just as they are marketing gurus, I'm a businesswoman and the book has helped me in terms of brand positioning. I am thankful to them for all the knowledge I have gained from them till date," says the creative lady.
The first time Varuna read the book it was almost three years back and that was around the same time that she decided to create her own brand label along with her dad. "The book holds great value in my life and whenever I feel confused, I read the book to get my focus back," admits Varuna.
Meanwhile, in films, she picks drama as her best genre and In Pursuit of Happyness as her favourite movie. "The film was very inspiring because despite all the ups and downs the actor (Will Smith) faced, he didn't give up but pursued till the very end and finally, his hard work did pay off," she says. Varuna particularly liked the last scene where after a lot of hard work Will Smith gets a job and goes around yelling on the streets of Manhattan out of sheer happiness.
