Hollywood’s favourite skin care professional is in the city. Though this is her first trip to India, Michelle Peck loves the place and says, “I find Indian women to truly be some of the most beautiful women in the world. However, I have discovered that pigmentation issues seems to be a skin condition that some of my Indian clients experience. Some also experience darker pigmentation
under their eyes,” says Michelle.

The solution she says is a range of her treatments and homecare products whose main ingredients are Alpha Arbutin and Bearberry Bark. “They are wonderful ingredients for lightening and brightening the skin!”

Having worked with some big Hollywood names like
singers Madonna and Jennifer Lopez, fashion mogul John Galliano and model and actor Molly Sims, Michelle is here for a brief consulting session at fashionistas Priya and Charu Sachdev’s store and reveals, “Madonna loves
doing our rejuvenation treatment before every show as it leaves her skin rejuvenated, hydrated, glowing and ready for the stage! John (Galliano) loves the Infusion prior to his shows as do most models as it leaves their travel-weary skin catwalk-ready.”

So, what is the right age to do a massage or facial? Says Michelle, “I encourage my clients to get skin-conscious as early as possible.”

But what about men? Aren’t they supposed to sport a macho look or is the metro-sexual look taking centre stage? Michelle opines that in today’s times, even Alpha men have become conscious of their skin care. “Traditionally men generally opted for massages over facials, since after a long day at their workplace, they wanted to just relax. However, because I have been a masseuse since my early 20’s I have many male clients and it was a simple transition to get them interested in taking care of their skin. This was because the signature treatment that I do is so relaxing that I often put my clients to sleep doing it!” reveals Michelle.

Before signing off, Michelle parts with some beauty tips. “I am a firm believer that internal hydration is essential to keep one’s skin glowing. I love taking two tablespoons of 100 percent extra virgin olive oil. It is amazing for our internal organs and can keep our skin moisturised and glowing,” says Michelle. She also recommends the age old magic potion of seven to nine hours of sleep each night! There’s a reason it’s called beauty sleep.
